Doc. MUDr. Jan Válka
Doc. MUDr. Jan Válka, an internationally acknowledged expert in the area of corrective nose surgery is one of the founders of blood vessel microsurgery in Czechoslovakia.
After having graduated at the Medical Faculty of the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně (today Masaryk University) in Brno in 1970, he started at the surgery department of the hospital in Znojmo. Since 1972 he worked at the Plastic Surgery Clinic of the Faculty Hospital in Brno and was the co-author of the first successful replantation of a finger. In 1984-91 he was the plastic surgery expert in the Traumatological Hospital where he succeeded in the first successful transfer of a toe to the hand in Czechoslovakia. Since 1991 he was the head of the Clinic of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery of the Faculty Hospital at St. Anna. Since the establishment of the Clinic Laurea in 1995, he has been performing plastic and aesthetic surgery in the whole service range of our offer.
He worked at university hospitals of Salisbury, Zürich and Singapur.
He is a member of the European Academy of Aesthetic Surgery, a member of the committee of the Czech Association of Aesthetic Surgery, a member of the committee of the Czech Association of Plastic Surgery and a teacher of ILF Prague, author of lots of articles in expert journals, the member of the editorial board of the international journal „Acta chirurgie plasticae“, author of the monography „Corrective Nose Surgery“ and co-author of publications “Hand Surgery” and “Prevention and Treatment of Decubitus”.
